1. WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?

Personal information you disclose to us

In Short: We collect personal information that you provide to us.

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you register on the Services, express an interest in obtaining information about us or our products and Services, when you participate in activities on the Services, or otherwise when you contact us.

Personal Information Provided by You. The personal information we collect may include: names, email addresses, usernames, passwords, contact or authentication data, billing addresses.

Guest Player Data. Players who join gameplay sessions without creating an account ("Guest Players") are identified by a session token stored in the browser's local storage. We collect their chosen display name and in-game actions (clue views, accusations, game interactions). Guest Player data is associated with a game session, not a persistent user account.

Creator Script Content. If you use the Script Creator Studio, we collect the script content you author, including characters, settings, clues, and story elements. Published scripts may be displayed to other users and processed by AI systems during gameplay sessions.

Sensitive Information. We do not process sensitive information.

Payment Data. We may collect data necessary to process your payment if you choose to make purchases. All payment data is handled and stored by Stripe. You may find their privacy notice at: https://stripe.com/privacy.

Social Media Login Data. We may provide you with the option to register with us using your existing social media account details. If you choose to register in this way, we will collect certain profile information about you from the social media provider. See "HOW DO WE HANDLE YOUR SOCIAL LOGINS?" below.

In Short: We only process your personal information when we believe it is necessary and we have a valid legal reason to do so under applicable law.

If you are located in the EU or UK, this section applies to you.

The GDPR and UK GDPR require us to explain the valid legal bases we rely on. We rely on the following legal bases for each processing activity:
  • Performance of a Contract — account creation, delivering gameplay services (including AI-generated content), processing payments, and responding to inquiries.
  • Legitimate Interests — fraud prevention and security, usage analytics and service improvement, and error monitoring.
  • Consent — marketing communications (which you may withdraw at any time).
  • Legal Obligations — where necessary for compliance with our legal obligations (e.g., tax record retention).

5. DO WE OFFER ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE-BASED PRODUCTS?

In Short: We offer products, features, or tools powered by artificial intelligence.

We provide AI products through OpenAI. Our AI products are designed for content generation and personalization — including generating unique game clues, adapting stories to player counts, evaluating player accusations, and validating script quality. The following data may be sent to OpenAI for processing during gameplay sessions: script content (settings, characters, clue templates), player display names, player count, game phase information, and player accusations. We do not send email addresses, authentication credentials, or payment information to AI providers. Player-submitted accusation text (your written method and motive guesses) is also sent to OpenAI for automated scoring. Our AI systems evaluate player accusations to determine game outcomes; these evaluations are automated but produce results used within the entertainment context of the game only and do not have legal or similarly significant effects on you. We process data through AI systems on the legal basis of performance of a contract — specifically, to deliver the interactive murder mystery game experience you have requested. Data sent to OpenAI via our API is processed in real time and is not used by OpenAI to train its models. OpenAI may retain API inputs and outputs for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring purposes. All personal information processed using our AI Products is handled in line with this Privacy Notice. Creator scripts submitted through the Script Creator Studio may be processed by AI systems for quality validation before and during gameplay. By submitting content, you acknowledge that your content may be transmitted to and processed by our AI service providers for the purposes described above.

Guest Player session data is retained for up to 90 days after a game session ends, after which it is anonymized or deleted. 12. COOKIES AND LOCAL STORAGE

Our Services use the following technologies to store information on your device:

Strictly Necessary Cookies: Authentication cookies (set by Clerk) maintain your logged-in session. These cookies are essential for the Services to function and cannot be disabled.

Local Storage: When you join a game as a guest player, a session token is stored in your browser's local storage to identify you within the game. This is strictly necessary for gameplay and is not used for tracking, advertising, or analytics. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser's site data, which will end your game session.

Advertising and measurement technologies: We may use limited third-party conversion measurement tools, including the OpenAI Ads Pixel, to understand whether ads lead to account creation and to improve advertising campaigns. These tools may collect technical identifiers and page or event data according to the provider's terms. We do not use guest player local storage for advertising tracking.

13. CONTROLS FOR DO-NOT-TRACK FEATURES
